We’ll welcome you with an introduction to the city’s history and its deep connection to the sea.

FISHING DOCKS

You will begin by learning about the significance of our port and the evolution of fishing practices over time. Discover the products from our coast and – of course – taste them!

RIBEIRA'S COMMUNITY

This is the community of the fishermen and the most important neighborhood for local gastronomy. Learn about the devotion of these people and how their lives are bound to the ocean in a deep sense. We will eat at a local fishermen’s “tasco”, tasting the best “petiscos”.

GIL EANNES

All aboard of this ship to learn everything about bacalhau (codfish): history of fishing, its impact on local gastronomy and of course, some of its 1001 recipes.

LOCAL RESTAURANT

We select restaurants that prioritize preserving our culinary heritage. You’ll eat at a unique restaurant renowned for its historical codfish recipe.

HISTORICAL CENTER

Get immersed in the atmosphere of the city center as we make space for the sweetest part of our tour. We’ll stop at two local bakeries for two iconic delicacies.

FAREWELL (and surprise!)

We don’t say goodbye without our surprise souvenir! Enjoy this moment and take the chance to relax and talk to our guides. Ask them for advices on where to eat and go for your next days in Viana do Castelo or nearby cities. This will be the appropriate time if you want to show some appreciation for their effort.
